ABOUT
THE GO ATLAS
THE GO ATLAS is the handiwork, brainchild, magnum opus — whatever you want to call it — of a backpacking, world-traveling pair, Frances Burton and Jeremy Trujillo. We want you to use our site like your own personal guidebook, so we included everything you need to be able to GO and LEARN. You'll find starter guides to ecotourism destinations around the world (which leave plenty of room for discovery on your own), as well as resources to educate yourself and give back to nature around the globe.
We like to travel introspectively and cheaply, leaving both plenty of time to get to know local communities — and a little extra in our wallets to support the uniquely impactful conservation organizations we encounter. Whether you’re here to plan your next adventure, or to discover an opportunity to make the world a better place, you can start here with THE GO ATLAS.

Originally from (the very hot, very urban) Dallas, Texas, Frances has since found home in the mountains of the United States. An avid adventurer, she works in the environmental field and hopes to dedicate her life to protecting our planet and all its abundance of life.
In her free time, you can find Frances active and in the outdoors — skiing, backpacking, scuba diving, running up and down mountains, and more. She loves to read, watch documentaries, and learn new languages (Spanish, French, Nepali, Indonesian… what’s next?).

Raised in the sweeping valleys of western Colorado, Jeremy is a photographer and filmmaker with a knack for telling stories at the intersection of conservation and community. His assignments in ecotourism have taught him the importance of community benefit and education in fostering a sustainable tourism industry.
He’s in his element when he’s sport climbing in the Velebit Range, exploring mangrove thickets in Campeche, or backpacking through the Himalayas. He prefers the hustle and bustle of a coral reef over that of the city, but always strives for genuine cultural exchange with the people who make the place.
